Terms of sale

Who we are
Banish Me is run by Wax and Press. Email us at letters@banishme.com — we'll send our postal address on request.
When these terms apply
These terms apply when you buy a letter on banishme.com. If you bought on Etsy, Etsy's terms cover your purchase, payment and refunds — but the sections below on writing your letter, what we won't print, delivery and putting things right still apply.
What you're buying
A personalised letter printed on heavyweight parchment paper, either folded and sealed with wax by hand, or sent flat and unsealed for framing. You write the words after you pay, with a live preview of the printed letter. We deliver to UK addresses only.
Price and payment
The total at checkout is everything you pay: £9.99 for the first letter and £7.99 for each further letter in the same order, with UK postage free. Nothing is added afterwards. You pay when you order, through our payment provider Stripe — your card details go to Stripe and never reach us.
Your order is accepted when your payment goes through and we email your letter-writing link. If anything stops us making your letter, we'll tell you and refund you in full.
Writing your letter
Your link works for a year. If your order is for several letters, you write them all before submitting. The preview is drawn by the same engine that prints the letter, so we print exactly what you approve — names, dates and spelling included. Check it before you submit: once submitted, the letter is locked. If you spot a mistake, email us straight away; if it hasn't been printed yet we'll do our best to fix it.
What we won't print
These letters are a game, and a person prints and seals every one. We won't print anything threatening, harassing, hateful or discriminatory, sexually explicit or defamatory, anything that uses someone's private information against them, or anything that could reasonably be read as a real threat rather than a joke. If we decline a letter, we'll tell you and refund that letter in full.
You're responsible for the words you write and for the letter being welcome — it should land as fun.
Delivery
We print, seal and post within 2 working days of your letter being submitted, by Royal Mail second class. Royal Mail aims to deliver second class within 2–3 working days but doesn't guarantee it. Your letter is our responsibility until it's delivered: if it hasn't arrived 10 working days after we post it, tell us and we'll send another or refund you.
Changing your mind
If you haven't submitted your letter yet, email us within 14 days of ordering and we'll refund you in full.
Once you've submitted it, your letter is made to your words, so you can't cancel or return it for a change of mind: personalised goods are an exception to the usual 14-day right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
If something's wrong
If your letter arrives damaged, or isn't what you approved in the preview, email us within 30 days with a photo and we'll reprint and resend it free — or refund you, if you'd rather. None of this affects your legal rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Our responsibility to you
If we break these terms, we're responsible for loss you suffer that was a foreseeable result. We aren't responsible for loss that wasn't foreseeable, or for business losses — the letters are for personal use. Nothing here limits our liability where the law doesn't allow it to be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.
Not official
Banish Me is inspired by The Traitors (UK). It isn't affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the BBC or Studio Lambert.

Complaints and the law
If you're unhappy, email letters@banishme.com and we'll reply within five working days. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales; if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you can also bring a claim in your local courts.
We may update these terms. The version on this page when you order is the one that applies to you.
